Alberta Francis Acord

Alberta Francis Acord, the daughter of Oscar and Anetha Ann (Brant) Acord was born on March 30, 1936 at a small farm outside of Bloomfield, Missouri.  She died at the age of 77 years on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.

Alberta was raised on a small ranch in the Missouri Ozarks by her mother and brother, Ray.  She loved to oil paint and knit and she also loved gardening.  Her Christian faith was important to her and she would attend church avidly and loved ready the Holy Bible.  She moved to Glenrock, Wyoming to work and raise her family.  She worked as a telephone operator for 25 years.  After she retired from AT&T, she worked part time at the post office in Colorado Springs until moving to Rugby to live with her son Jon and his wife Ann. 

Alberta is survived by a daughter, Ginger Ludtke of Casper, WY; a son, Jon (Ann) Acord of Rugby; three grandchildren, Justin & Nathan Ludtke, and Heather Stevens; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler and Anna Ludtke, and Avalyne Stevens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother and parents.

Graveside services will be held in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby later in the spring.
