Alice Marie Rosencrans

Alice M. Rosencrans was born September 11, 1930 to Alfred (Bud) and Nora (Thomas) Rosencrans at their rural home at Denbigh, ND. They later bought a ranch south of Towner, ND.

Alice attended country schools until her senior year where she graduated from Towner High School. She then attended Minot Teachers College for a year and got her standard degree. She often said she was a one year wonder. She then taught in area country schools and went to college in summer months to get her masters degree which she did. She taught for over 30 years - McClusky, Rugby, Williston, and the majority spent in Minot.

After she retired from teaching she bough a few acres of land rest of Towner and got herself five ponies that she absolutely loved and spent much of her time with them. She always had a love of animals, especially horses. She died in a car accident on June 17, 2014, while going to take care of her ponies.

Those who survive Alice is her sisters: Erma (Alvin) Berndt, Edna Buer, and Jean (Lyle) Carpenter, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois Carpenter, and brothers Fred, Russell, Alfred K, and Tom Rosencrans.

Alice's memorial service will be held July 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Towner. There will be no reviewal or visitation.
