Beverly June Miller

Beverly Miller, the daughter of Wellington and Jennie (De Priest) Lewis was born on October 1, 1938 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She died at the age of 80 years on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

 

In 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Tofte. After his accidental death in 1960, she married and divorced Julius Schmidt. Later she married John Czechowski and after his sudden death in 1995, she married Warren Miller who died in 2017. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Rugby, Ladies Aid, Esmond VFW Auxiliary, the Rugby and Esmond Senior Citizens where she held offices as treasurer and Vice President, the Council of Aging, and the Rugby Eagles Auxiliary where she was president, state mom, and held many other offices.  She enjoyed bingo, travel, collecting many treasures of which her favorite was Elvis, designing wedding cakes, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Beverly is survived by her children, Penny Tofte of Minot, Paula (Blaine) Davis of Rolla, and Perry (Renae) Schmidt of Roseville, California; Seven grandchildren, Karen Sue Bennett , Vern Bennett Jr, Steve Herman Jr., Stephanie Herman, Jenna Herman, Dr. Eric Schmidt, and Andrew Schmidt; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Robert Tofte, Julius Schmidt, John Czechowski, and Warren Miller; her parents; her brothers, Wellington Jr. (Sonny), Kenny; and sisters, Bonnie (Triebel) and twin sister Betty (Crawford); her daughter, Peggy Bennett; and granddaughter, Tanya Herman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14th at First Lutheran Church in Rugby with burial in the Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.  Pastor Elaine Sveet, officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby and will continue on Friday for one hour prior to the time of services at the church.

 

Casket Bearers:  Steve Herman Jr., Mel Solsten, Vern Bennett Jr., Ken Lewis Jr., Edward Degner, Jeff Miller, Carl Schaan and Levi Schaan
