Carmen Rae Satrang, the daughter of James A. and Karen K. (Johnson) Satrang was born on January 19th, 1969 in Rolla, North Dakota. She died unexpected on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.
Carmen was a 1987 graduate of Independence High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Following high school, she worked outside the home until the birth of her first beautiful daughter, Nichole in 1989, They welcomed another daughter and sister, Kimberly in 1990. In 2000, she moved to Rugby to be closer to family. With her love for children, Carmen did daycare for several Rugby children. She had a loving soul and everyone who knew her seemed to agree. She was an avid reader and a more than serious gamer.
Survivors include her daughters, Nicole Satrang of Phoenix, Arizona and Kimberly Young of Scottsdale, Arizona and their father, Dave Young of Peoria, Arizona; her mother and step-father, Karen and Rodney Calkins of Rugby; her father and step-mother, James and Sharry Satrang of Wellburg, West Virginia; her siblings, Sherri (Thomas) Montoya, Phoenix, AZ, Kim (Jim) Ascenzo, Tammy Pierce and Bobby (Valerie) Gray, all of Wellsburg, WV, Shawnda Satrang, Rugby, Shevonne Calkins and Randolph Calkins, both of Tacoma, WA; numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Gladys Johnson and Alfred and Beryl Satrang; aunt, Cleo Berdahl; and uncle, Robert Johnson.
