Dennis Duane Scheet, the son of Xavier and Christine (Hager) Scheet was born on October 18, 1943 in Balta, North Dakota. He died at the age of 70 years on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home in Rugby, North Dakota.
Dennis was raised in the home of his parents in Balta until age 3 when the family moved to Rugby. He completed his education in 1958. In 1961, he entered into the U.S. Army/Army National Guard and served until 1969. He married Linda Strand and they had two children, Kevin and Jody. That marriage ended and he was united in marriage to Marie (Couture) Ruland to which he gained eight children. He lived in Oakland, California and worked for an Automotive Paint Company. They moved to Lodi, California to continue working for the Automotive Paint Company. Upon returning to North Dakota, he and Marie managed Imperial Manor Trailer Count and managed/owned, Pats Motel and Campground. Before retiring, he did maintenance at Minot Commission on Aging and delivered Meals on Wheels. He served on Surrey Fire Department and the Minot rural fire department. After retiring the couple started D & M Carpet Cleaning. Dennis was a hard worker who always had a smile and he enjoyed family gatherings.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Marie of Rugby, children, Kevin and Jody; step-children, Rosie, Vickie (Steve), Jim (Lauren), Steve, Jackie (Wade), Tom (Deb), Terrie (Donald) and Mike (Georgeanne); siblings, Gabe, Maggie, Raymond, Albert, Joan Marie and Francis; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; grand pets; nieces, nephews; other relatives and several friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Rosemary, Daniel, Susan and Linda; and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery. Fr. Tom Graner, Celebrant
Visitation: will be from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday in the Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. There will be no Reviewal in the church. |
