Donald  Harold Waltzer, the son of Carl and Hazel (Pollard) Waltzer was born in the  rural Granville, North Dakota home of his parents on December 25, 1929.  He died at the age of 87 years on Thursday,  December 14, 2017 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North  Dakota. 
                      
                      Donald  was raised in the home of his parents where he attended Riga School and  graduated from Granville High School, the class of 1950.  He spent most of his working years for Roy  Voeller’s Service Station in Towner, North Dakota.  Later he purchased the building and opened  his own business as Don’s Service where he specialized in Car Washing and  Detailing and light auto mechanics.  Many  friends stopped every morning at the shop for coffee, so much that they had  their own personalized coffee mugs so there would be no mistakes whose was  whose.  After retirement, he enjoyed  gardening and keeping up his yard work.   He was an avid reader, a lover of his cat and in the summers, you would  find him driving around town in his golf cart. 
                      
                      He  is survived by brothers, Ray and his wife, Leah and Doran and his wife, Phillis;  sister, Carol and her husband, Lyle Sumner; nieces, nephews; other relatives  and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. 
                      
                      Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30th in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Towner with spring burial in the Union  Cemetery, Towner.  Mr. Jonathan Waltzer,  presider. 
                      
                    Friends may greet the family for one hour prior to the time of services at the  funeral home.  There will be no reviewal.  |
