Gary Voeller

Gary D. Voeller passed away at age 41 on July 18th, 2017 in a tragic vehicle accident near Grand Forks. He was born in Rugby, North Dakota on September 8th, 1975. Gary was the second child of Duane and Margaret (Schneider) Voeller.

Gary grew up in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School, the class of 1995. While in high school, Gary worked at Bickler’s Jack & Jill. He completed his education at North Dakota College of Science in Wahpeton for welding. After college, Gary moved to Grand Forks where he worked as a welder for a short time and then for Leevers Foods. Gary was working in the commissary at the Grand Forks Air Force Base and was on his way to work when he was killed in the accident. He will be greatly missed by many.

Gary enjoyed watching NASCAR and Vikings football games. He liked hunting and really loved fishing.

He is survived by his parents of Rugby and his siblings: Michael, Richard, Diane, Renae, Karen (Andrew) Lafferty, Daniel, Donovan (Crystal), Sharon, and Steven, all of Grand Forks; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Amanda, Emily, and Brandon Voeller, and Sophia and future baby boy Lafferty; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents: Walter and Eleanor Voeller and Leo and Magdalena Schneider.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 24th at the Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary and vigil prayer service starting at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby.  Visitation will continue Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  There will be no reviewal in the church.
