Frances 'Fran' Sattler

Frances Mae “Fran” (Rodlund) Sattler, was born November 30, 1945 in Milnor, North Dakota to Walter and Cecilia (Bohnenkamp) Roplund.  She died suddenly and unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, November 22, 2016 at the Minot Health & Rehabilitation Center in Minot, North Dakota.

Fran was raised in the home of her parents in Milnor and received her education there.  On March 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Gabe Sattler in Bottineau, North Dakota where they made their home and raised their five children.  Later, Gabe and Fran would dissolve their marriage.  A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, Fran cherished her family, enjoyed working on plastic canvas and puzzles of all kinds.  In July of 1995, she and her daughter, Tammy moved to Rugby where she has made her home.  Fran was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby.

Those left to mourn her loss are her children, Gabe Jr. (Brenda) of Devils Lake, Ann (Gary) Zorn of Bottineau, Julie (Bill) Sackenreuter of Devils Lake and Tammy Sattler of Rugby; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Rodlund of Fargo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie; three sisters, Maryanne, Betty and Mabel; her best friend of 50+ years, Charlotte Ovitt; and her parents.

In Appreciation

On behalf of the family, we wish to express their gratitude for your many acts of kindness evidenced in thoughts and deed and for your attendance at the funeral service.  There will be a time of fellowship and lunch immediately following the burial at the Bottineau Senior Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 25th at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Rugby with burial in the Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Friday in the funeral home.
