Gary J. Natwick, the son of Herbert and Irene (Jackson) Natwick was born on April 22, 1945 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, ND. Gary passed away at the age of 72 years on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.
Gary was raised on the family farm and attended school in Bantry. Gary was once married to Marilyn Werle. In his early years, he raised registered Angus bulls, a job where he traveled and made many friends. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Spencer Johnson on April 22, 1988. During the summer you could find Gary and Charlotte at various parades in their covered wagon with their team Lady & Tramp. In the fall he enjoyed attending the yearly Culbertson’s Trail Ride. He received numerous awards for his conservation of land management. Gary was still ranching at the time of death; it was a way of life he truly enjoyed.
Gary was a member of the Bantry Township Board, Towner Ranchers Scale Association, B & U Riders and the New Hope Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte; son Rick (Deb) Natwick of Velva; step-daughters Nancy (Jason) Smette of Granville, Brenda (Rich) Schildberger of Buxton, Jennifer (Kurt) Schott of Royalton, MN; his sister Gail Merrill of Harvey; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Gale Merrill and brother-in-law, Charles Merrill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Upham with spring burial in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Upham. Pastor Linda Wimmer and Wally Fretland, officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Towner and visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Thursday. |
