My thoughts and prayers for you, Phillis, and family. I will miss my cousin, George, it was always so pleasant seeing him when I returned to Rugby for a visit. I regret that we are unable to attend George's service as I know it will be a grand celebration of his life. I will remember, fondly, all the times I heard George sing and as this is Easter week he will be singing The Holy City for everyone in heaven on Sunday. God is good. My love, Sharon Hjelle Smith

God's blessings to Phyllis, Dave, Peggy and Don.
You're husband/dad was such a special man and he really loved his kiddos. I have so many special memories of your family and George and Phyllis always made sure we were always welcome in your home. Mom and Dad thought so much of your parents and they loved to hear George sing. He blessed several of our family events with his beautiful voice. Praying for your family and wishing I didn't live so far away. I would love to see all of you again.

Dear Phyllis, Peggy, David, Don and your family. Our very heartfelt sympathy to you all in the loss of George. The first and foremost thought that comes to our mind is that George was so blessed with a wonderful singing voice. George touched many lives during his life journey, and we are so thankful for our lifetime friendship with George and his family. Our memorial, in George's name, has been given to the Metigoshe Ministries. Yvonne and I are currently in Trinity Homes receiving physical therapy, therefore, we are unable to attend the funeral service.
With our loving thoughts and our prayers to you and yours, Allen and Yvonne Drege

Dear Phyllis and family of George, I am saddened to hear of your loss. I remember George mostly from the summer of 1959 and 1960 after I graduated from Rugby High School and when he was active in the Jaycees. I especially remember that he came to visit my mother, Gladys McGuire, in Rugby, on several occasions when I was in Moorhead, MN at Concordia College. He was intent on having a "Miss Rugby" pageant so Rugby could be represented in the Miss North Dakota Pageant. He tried to convince my mother to convince me to enter. I finally agreed and was very proud to represent Rugby and the Jaycees as a finalist in the pageant. George was so kind and supportive through all the activities and special events he organized for me that year. It was a special time in my life and I hope he knew how much his efforts meant to me. Please know that I am thinking of you all.
Hugs, Maureen McGuire Browning Mesa AZ

Dear Phyllis, David, Don, Peggy and family.
During my years in Rugby George and I sang together at many music events. We were part of a quartet that was together for 12 years, enjoyed musicals, church choir and many community singing events. And who can forget the years of caroling at Christmas, with the final stop at the Vangsnes home!! I so cherish those singing memories and George's friendship over the years. George was a gregarious, larger-than-life, community oriented person. Rugby has lost one of its best.....
My thoughts and prayers are with the Vangsnes family at this difficult time. George will live on as long as they who knew him live......God Bless his life and memory.

Vangsnes family: Don't know what is wrong with us but I blame it on age of course for not knowing or hearing of our friend George's death.  I can remember oh those many years ago when he welcomed me into the church choir as a freshmen in high school.  I sang beside Joel form many years and liked him very much also.  Our beloved Rugby has lost a good one, one that will be remembered for many thing and for many years.  I liked him very much as did Tani.  Our prayers are w9ith you guys still at this late date.
