Harlan Phillip Thingelstad, age 55 of Rugby went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26th, 2014 at his home from natural causes.
Harland was born March 7th, 1959 to Hassel and Alma (Brekke) Thingelstad in Culbertson, Montana In 1960, the family moved to Wolf Point, Montana where received his education. Following his schooling, he worked at the Sherman Hotel in Wolf Point and owned and operated the Discovery House a novelty shop and a couple of apartment complexes. After 10 years, he moved on to the Houston/Temple, Texas area where he managed a couple of convenience stores and did interior decorating on the side. During this time while at work, the store was robbed and he was severely beaten and left for dead. Following his miraculous recovery, he moved to Minot to be closer to family and for the past 3 years, he had made his home in Rugby. Harland enjoyed interior decorating and going to yard sales
He is survived by two sisters, Betty (Mel) Harris of Billings, MT and Sharon Topp of Minot; two brothers, Rodger of Minot and Vernon of Wolf Point, MT; nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
