Howard Lewis “Cricket” Lashman, the son of William and Anna (Lazier) Lashman was born on July 23, 1943 in Rolla, North Dakota. He died at the age of 72 years on Wednesday, October 7th, 2015 at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot, North Dakota.
Howard was raised in the home of his parents in the rural Bantry-Towner area. He started school at the Red Cross country school and finished at Towner High School. On August 31, 1961 he was inducted in the U.S. Army where he served until his honorable discharge on August 30, 1963. He was united in marriage to Helen Due in June 1964 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Willow City. Together, they had three children, Terri, Tami and Gregory. They later dissolved their marriage. In November of 1982 he married Cynthia Woodall and together they had two girls, Beverly and Brittany. They dissolved their marriage in 1987. He then retired from working many years doing construction and working in the oil field. “Cricket” enjoyed hunting, fishing, rodeos and casinos. He always had a good story to tell and enjoyed going to auction sales to find his ‘treasures’.
Howard is survived by his children, Terri (Thomas) Morgel of Portal, Tami Petersen of Minot, Gregory (Becky) Lashman of Minot, Kelly Ostenson of Jamestown, Beverly (Ryan) Beeter of Upham and Brittany Lashman (Tanner Dame) of Burlington; grandchildren, Amy Davis, Stacey Morgel, Melisa Jorgensen, Rick, Emily & Annamarie Morgel, Matt and Danielle Petersen, Layton, Landon and Bristol Beeter, Raelynn and Hailee Dame; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Myles) Frounfelter of Granville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dillon Ostenson; brothers, Charles in infancy, Sherman and William; several nieces and nephews; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church in Towner with burial in the Union Cemetery, Towner. Pastor Don Andrews, officiation.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Towner with a Prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday for one hour prior to the time of services at the church. |
