I offer my love and prayers to each member of Irene's family.  I am so sad on hearing the news and also believe that with death, life is not ended only changed, and Irene is ever so near to all of you.  I have many happy memories of Irene coming to family celebrations.  My parents were Chris and Clara Miller Schmaltz  and though we lived in Mayville, she would make the trip and it was a joyful time when we all got together.  May God gift you with peace.
Sister Lorraine Schmaltz

On behalf of EHS Class of 1971, I am sending our condolences to our classmate Richard as he mourns the lost of his mother, Irene. She was quite the lady and could often be found at various events or occasions in Esmond, which allowed me to catch up on how Richard was doing. Her talents in the kitchen were appreciated every time she brought something to a potluck or volunteered to bring one of her delicious bars or desserts to whatever the occasion might be. Most notable for me was the Memorial Day dinner. Her zesty personality and culinary delights will be missed amongst many other of her good qualities. Our hearts and prayers to you Richard and your brothers and sisters. We'll be thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.
