Jeanne Marie (Tuchscherer) Berg, the daughter of Gabriel “Gabe” and Lillian (Linnum) Tuchscherer was born on April 1, 1945 in Rugby, North Dakota. She died at the age of 68 years following a courageous four year war on cancer, on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, surrounded by her husband and three children.
Jeanne was raised in the home of her parents in rural Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1963. She completed her education at North Dakota State University in Fargo. On June 6, 1966, she was united in marriage to Rodney Berg at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby. Following their marriage, the couple made their home, farmed and started their family on the Berg family farm near Rolette. In 1976, the family moved to the Tuchscherer family farm in Walsh Township near Rugby, where they were enjoying retirement life. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Jeanne also worked outside the home from 1997 to 2007 at Duchscher-Moen Insurance Agency in Rugby. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her yard until she was diagnosed with leukemia in 2009 and underwent a bone marrow transplant that same year, along with chemo and radiation therapy. Jeanne loved following her grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest cheerleader. She loved her grandchildren beyond measure! Go Panthers! Go Knights! Go Diggers!
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Rodney; a daughter, Christie (Steve) Lang of Minot; sons, Curtis (Traci) of Brush, Colorado, and Joel of Rugby; grandchildren, Leyton and Landon Lang, Erin, Kristen and Lauren Berg, and Devon and Joey Berg; sisters, Patricia (Robert) Lium of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Tuchscherer of Oakland, California; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery. Father Tom Graner, Celebrant.
Visitation: from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby. There will be no reviewal in the Church.
Rosary and Vigil prayers will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. |
