Kevin Zietz Kevin “Meathead” Eugene Zietz, age 64 of Rugby, North Dakota died Sunday, July 21st, 2019 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. He was born June 4, 1955 in Minot, North Dakota to Eugene and JoAnn (Pugh) Zietz. He graduated from Minot High School, the class of 1974. At the age of 16 years, Kevin began his lifelong career of meat cutting at the South Hill Red Owl in Minot. Over his years of meat cutting, he worked at Red Owl, Albertsons, Berthold Meats, Food Pride and Leevers Foods until health forced his retirement.
Kevin met the love of his life, Judy Geyer and they were married on August 17, 1974. To this union two children were born. Kevin was an avid hunter and enjoyed softball, golf and feeding his birds. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, enjoying the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Lynette (Mike) Haggerty and son, Lance (Angela) Zietz, all of Rugby; grandchildren, Landon and Bryce Zietz and Faith and Nolan Haggerty; brothers and sisters, Kathryn Holmes of Minnesota, Sue George (Brian) of Minot, Bruce (Colette) Zietz of Bemidji, MN, Gordon (Candace) Zietz of Garrison, Tomie (Tina) Zietz of Cole Harbor, Jamie (Lisa) Zietz of Minot; sisters-in-law, Susan Zietz and Danelle Zietz, both of Minot. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandson, Noah Haggerty; brothers, Eugene Jr., Danny, Dennis and Mike Zietz; and his parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26th in the Bethany Lutheran Church, Rugby. Pastor Barb Haugerud, Presiding.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service
