Kristi Erickson

Kristi Sue (Brossart) Erickson, the daughter of John and Rosemary (Scheet) Brossart was born on September 11, 1968 in Rugby, North Dakota.  She died at the age of 47 on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota surrounded by family and friends.

Kristi was raised in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1986.  She was united in marriage to Richard ‘Rick’ Erickson on October 17, 1987 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby.  The couple made their home in Rugby and raised their daughter Kali.  Kristi enjoyed going to the lake with her family to fish or relax on the pontoon.  She enjoyed her weekly dart and bingo nights with some of her closest friends and on her down time you could always find a book in her hand.  Kristi loved to snuggle with and care for her three yorkies.  Kristi spent the last two years of her life struggling with the diagnosis of lung cancer.  She was dealt many challenges that many would have surrendered to; however, she always faced every setback with the will to fight.  Her greatest strength came from getting the chance to hold and watch her first grandchild explore and learn the world around her.  Kristi had a personality that could make anyone light up and was loved by many.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Richard ‘Rick’; daughter, Kali and her husband Cody Mattson of Bismarck; granddaughter, Malia Mattson of Bismarck; sisters, Kathy (Greg) Jorgenson of Harwood, Theresa (Rod) Schmidt of Halstad, MN, and Lori (Louis) Lorenzano of Surprise, AZ; brothers, John (Bernice) Brossart of Leeds, Bob (Kathy) Brossart of Rugby, Jim (Tammy) Brossart of Rugby, and Allan (Arlene) Brossart of Bismarck; parents-in-laws, Norman (Sharon) Erickson of Rugby; brothers-in-law, Mike of Minot, Stephen (Kim) of Minot, Sandon of Rugby and Doug Guss of Minot/Wolford; a sister-in-law, Kayleen (Randy) Yoder of Devils Lake; grandfather-in-law, Stan Amon; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Marilyn Guss; brothers, Eldon and Richard Brossart; a brother-in-law, Roland Thompson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery.  Father Tom Graner, Celebrant.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday with a Rosary and vigil prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.  Visitation will continue from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  No reviewal at the church.
