Lori Sebastian

Lori Ann (Haman) Sebastian one of the kindest hearts and hardest working souls went to ride in greener pastures Sunday, March 25th, 2018.

Lori was born on August 16, 1961 to Edward and Clovis (Sveund) Haman in Rugby, North Dakota.  She was the oldest of 3 children and grew up in Towner, ND where she worked on the family farm. On September 4th, 1981 she married Donald Sebastian. They had two daughters Lexi and Codi. During their marriage they lived in Hazen where they owned and operated a meat processing plant, raised cattle, and horses amongst many other animals. In 2000, Lori moved back to Towner.

Lori was one of the hardest working women. Nothing stopped her in the face of adversity. Independent and strong yet the softest spoken and good hearted. She worked hard to do whatever it took to get the job done. You could always find her in the kitchen baking and cooking her famous chocolate chip cookies and homemade buns. Her Thank You’s and I Love You’s came from her kitchen. She had an incredible gift for sewing. If you could imagine it she could create it.  She had a huge heart for animals and would go to no end to save them, whether it was bottle raising a colt or saving a deer alongside the road. Her home was always open to an animal in need. A visit at Lori’s would no doubt be filled with puppy kisses and a yard full of horses. Her life was devoted to animals.

Lori was so proud of her two daughters. She never missed anything they were a part of. She was truly their biggest fan. She looked forward to rodeoing with her daughters and seeing her rodeo family on the weekends. She had a passion for horses and loved to ride.  Her grandson, Kanin, became her whole world. There wasn’t a drive too far whether it was for grandparent’s day, his birthday or rodeos. She was his #1 super fan. You’ve never seen a smile so big as when she got to see Kanin.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Codi Sebastian, Lexi Sebastian, grandson Kanin Sebastian, all of Dickinson; brother, Darin Haman of Towner; sister Melanie (Scott) Best and niece Cheznie Best, all of Norwich; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  Lori was proceeded in death by her Mother and Father and many of her cherished pets.

We will be celebrating Lori’s life at 2pm CT on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Fr. Schommer.

Please join us for refreshments a light luncheon immediately following the ceremony.  Family and friends will be gathering at the Lee Ranch Monday evening.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 2nd at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner with late spring burial in the church cemetery.  Father Michael Schommer, Celebrant.
