Marjorie Marcella Reamer

Marjorie M. “Marge” McLean Reamer, the daughter of Duncan and Margaret (McLachlan) McLean was born on February 25, 1923 in Westhope, North Dakota.  She died at the age of 93 years on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

Marge was reared in the home of her parents in Newberg and Russell, North Dakota where she received her education in those communities.  Later, moving to Bottineau, she met Wallace Reamer.  The couple courted and dated until they were united in marriage in November of 1944.  The couple made their home, raised their children and farmed in Omemee, North Dakota for 47 years.  After Wallace’s death, Marge continued to live on the farm until moving to Rugby in 2005.  Marge spent many winters in Arizona and summers back in North Dakota.

Marge was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Omemee and later the First Presbyterian Church of Willow City, participated in the Farmers Union Women of North Dakota, the Democratic Women of North Dakota, served as treasurer for the Willow Vale Township Board and the Rugby Senior Citizens.  Marge was best noted for her culinary skills in the kitchen, especially noted for her famous buns and lefse.  She had a great passion for playing cards with the ladies at the Haaland Manor Estate, where she had resided for the past three years. She became a champion pool player during her winters in Arizona and crocheted many afghans and dollies for family and friends.  When not crocheting, she was busy doing ceramics and other crafts.

Posted Condolences:

Connie and Bonnie,
So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing, but glad she is finally at peace.  I am so glad Mom got to see her this summer.  It is sad for Mom to see so many of her friends passing, but we try to remember all the good time that our families spent together playing cards, holidays, and just passing time with each other.  The last time I visited her in Rugby with Mom we played hand and foot all night.....and I slept on her little 2 seated sofa.....anyway just wanted you to both know I am thinking about you.
