Mary (Kegley)  Halvorson, the beloved daughter of Raymond and Joan (Melrose) Kegley was born  July 26th, 1947 in Rugby, North Dakota.  She died peacefully with family around her on  Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo, North Dakota. 
                        
                      Mary grew up in Wolford,  North Dakota with her 4 siblings; as the eldest, she was a nurturing soul to  the point that she would take her youngest sister, Brenda everywhere, as her  guardian angel and caregiver.  In 1965  she married and raised 3 children in Dunseith, North Dakota.  She loved, farming, gardening, puzzles, and  rescuing animals and once in a while, even some humans.  Mary loved her life-long friends who impacted  her life and loved her unconditionally.    She worked hard her entire life and instilled this in her children.  Mary was the backbone of the family and loved  hosting family reunions and always made holidays special with family  traditions.  Mary portrayed strength and  resilience throughout her entire life and left this life just a graceful as she  came into it. 
                        
                      Those she left behind  include two daughters and one son; Lori McCoy of Fargo, Deborah McCoy of Omaha,  Nebraska and Daniel (Kelsey) McCoy of Fargo; Six grandchildren, Seth, Tyler,  Savannah, Ethan, Danielle and Cole and one spicy ginger, great-grandson,  Cooper, who she adored.; a sister, Brenda (Everett) Kendall of Lake Park, Minnesota;  two brothers, Dale of Rolette and Rodney of Bottineau; She also cherished 3  nieces, 9 nephews and several great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.  Those Mary reunited with in heaven; one sister, Bonnie and her mother and  father, along with her beloved dog Katie, cats, Samantha and Tabitha. 
                        
                      Mary will be greatly  missed and always loved. 
                        
                      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27  at Peace Lutheran Church in Dunseith with burial in the Wolford Community  Cemetery, Wolford.  Pastor James Odden,  officiating.  
                        
                    A Visitation and Luncheon fellowship will be from 11:00 a.m.  to 1:00 p.m. at the church, Tuesday before the funeral service.  |
