Milton Holm

Milton Earl Holm, the son of John and Garnet (Greene) Holm was born on June 27, 1938 in Rugby, North Dakota.  He was called to be with his heavenly father on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Heart of America Medical Center with Johnathan and Cheryl at his side in Rugby, North Dakota.

Milton was raised in the home of his parents in Rugby and was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Rugby.  He grew up in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School and served in the National Guard after high school.  He moved to Denver and then returned to Rugby after the death of his father.  He drove truck for several years and logged three thousand miles with no accidents.  He also ran a milk route, did ornamental iron work and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix.  He was once married to Rita Hoffart and together they had a son who died in infancy and a daughter Denise.  On July 22, 1989 he was united in marriage to Cheryl in Harvey, North Dakota.  The couple made their home six miles south of Rugby.  Milt continued to drive truck and together he and Cheryl raised sheep.  They were blessed with their son, Johnathan Robert on February 2, 1991.  He had a love of old cars and had a small collection.  He will be deeply missed by his son and Cheryl.

Milton is survived by his wife; son, Johnathan; daughter, Denise (Mike) Lopez of San Jose, CA; granddaughters, Mykal Anne and Marina Lopez of San Jose, CA; sister, Marliss; nieces, nephews; other relatives; friends and his beloved pet, Simba.  He was preceded in death by an infant son; sister, Elinor; brother, Richard; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24th at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Rugby with spring burial in the Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.  Pastor Nathan Steen, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby with a prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Thursday.
