Raymond Gingerich

Raymond John Gingerich, the son of Rufus and Rhoda (Yoder) Gingerich was born in the Rolette Community Hospital on March 26, 1946.  He died at the age of 73 years on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his rural Mylo, North Dakota home in the care of his family and hospice.

 

Ray was a lifelong Mylo farmer and rancher.  He was raised in the rural farm home of his parents and attended Mylo Elementary and completed his education at the Rolette High School.  Ray worked as a mechanic at the Graber-Shrock Chevrolet in Rolette from 1965 to 1966.  He was united in marriage to Lily Slaubaugh on September 9, 1966 at the Lakeview Mennonite Church.  The couple made their home on the Gingerich family farm, raising three children, Robin, Darren and Stephanie, farmed and ranched.  After semi-retiring in 2011, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and purchased a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  Ray and Lily enjoyed many adventures on their motorcycles, including a family trip in 2012.  Ray and Lily also enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Israel, the Holy Land for their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012.  He will be forever missed by his family and many friends.

 

Survivors include his wife Lily; his children, Robin (Gildardo) Molina and Darren (Yvonne) Gingerich, all of Greenwood, Delaware and Stephanie (Russell) Auka of Mylo; grandchildren, Summer Rayne Molina,, Colter, Tieryn (fiancé Andrew Heishman), Chloe & Summer Dee Gingerich; Raymond & Dale Auka; Dallas & Patty Auka Parker and Peyton; Jessalyn Auka and Skye; brother, Randy (Tammy) Gingerich of Rolette; sister-in-law, Corrine Gingerich of Hamilton, Montana; special nieces & nephews, Stan, Marla, Bob, Mike, Rhonda & Rochelle; other nieces, nephews,  relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert & Richard; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Rolette Assembly of God Church with burial in the Old Order of the Amish Cemetery, Mylo.  Pastor Eugene Wilson, officiating. 

 

A Prayer Service and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the church.
