Thomas William McClintock

Thomas William McClintock the son of proud parents, Jay and Esther (Grorud) McClintock was born on April 29, 1959 in Rugby, North Dakota.  Tom was raised in Rugby by his parents and with his adoring siblings, Jay and Patricia.  He also grew up with the loving care of his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins just down the street; and with numerous close family friends.  After graduating from Rugby High School with the great class of 1977, Tom followed in the footsteps of his family attending the grand University of North Dakota.  He graduated with a degree in business.  While at UND, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity which was a legacy that he shared with his dad, brother and uncles John McClintock and Bob Jacobson.  At UND and for much of his adult life, he continued to recreationally play his two favorite sports of basketball and tennis, a love passed down by his parents.  As his whole family is, he was an avid alumni and fan of the University of North Dakota and of their team sports and was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings, which he followed year around.

Our quiet, sweet precious Tom’s life ended suddenly and without warning at the family business, McClintock Insurance Agency where he worked alongside his dad, brother Jay and several great administrative assistants.  He also previously worked for a short time in Bismarck and at a branch office of the McClintock Insurance Agency in Grand Forks.  Tom was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Rugby whose pastors and members are like family.  Rest in peace dear Tom.  We love you and miss you greatly.

Tom is survived by his brother, Jay of Rugby; sister, Patricia (Mike) Baier of Bottineau; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; 2 great nieces; 3 great nephews; a great niece to be; his cousins, who are like siblings and their families.  He was received into heaven on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, where he joined our Savior and our parents, grandparents, cousin Mo and all that went before.

Posted Condolences:

My sincere condolences to the McClintock family. I enjoyed when Tom stopped in at North Star Credit Union. He always took time to track me down to talk about the MN Twins or the Vikings. He was a regular at the popcorn machine to take a little snack back to work. I will miss his little smirk and laugh during our visits. Rest in peace Tom!

Dear Family of Tom  McClintock,
He was our freshman basketball coach at South Junior High in Grand Forks.  His passion for the game and desire to teach and help us improve our knowledge and skills were evident.  I will always appreciate the time and effort he dedicated to our team.   My deepest sympathy to your entire family.
