Travis Timothy Stone

Travis Timothy Stone, the son of Timothy Dean and Connie Lee (Mahle) Stone was born on March 30, 1981 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.  He died at the age of 34 years on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota in the care of his family and Hospice.

Travis was raised in Knox and attended Rugby schools, graduating from Rugby High School, the class of 2000.  He completed his education at Lake Region State College for Diesel Technology and graduated in 2002.  While in college, he worked at Lake Region Livestock and Twete Inc. where he later worked full time for 12 years.  Travis worked at Gooseneck Implement in Rugby for one year before returning to the family farm in Knox to work full time.  He loved being on the family farm and helping with the cattle.  Travis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and would lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice.

Travis is survived by his mother, Connie Stone of Java, SD; his father, Tim Stone of Knox; brothers, Jason (Andrea) of Palermo and Jody (Josie) of Knox; niece, Brooke of Palermo; grandmother, Margy Stone of Knox; step-grandfather, Duane Heidlebaugh of Knox; aunts, uncles; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis Stone, Magnus Mahle & grandmother, Bev (Mahle) Heidlebaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 at First Lutheran Church in Rugby with spring burial in the Knox Lutheran Cemetery, Knox. Rev. Don Barsness, officiating.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby and for one hour prior to the time of services on Wednesday in the church.
